What is "Zannalov"?
Many years ago I found myself in need of a new alias/handle/user-name. This was before many banks and other sites were requiring a minimum of nine characters for a user. I wanted something that fit exactly within the old eight-character-user-name standard (for the nostalgia of it), was completely unique, didn't have any particular meaning, and rolled off the tongue.
At the time, I was learning Russian, so I picked phonetics based loosely on English and Russian.
Zannalov was born! It was one of those moments of inspiration. As far as I have found, it has no meaning in any language; It sounds vaguely Russian (but isn't); It is exactly eight characters.
Some people have asked how to pronounce it. So here's a simple guide:
- Zann: Think of the name "Tarzan"
- a: This is a soft "a", as in "ahhh, I understand now"
- lov: Take the word "of" (as in "of course"), and change the "f" to a "v" sound
- The emphasis goes on the first "a" and the "o", making it ZANnaLOV
